I am not sure what you mean by turn the light on and off. I would just power it on and off with a controller if you want that, but I leave mine on all the time and turn colors/segments off using the photoperiod schedule. Anywhere a section is dragged to 0% it is off.

You can customize any of the presets and save them as something new.

I meant like if the photoperiod is off and you wanted to turn it on just for a second to check something out and vice versa. Or turn it off for some reason in the middle of the photoperiod with the click of a button.

oh yeah you can do that. They call it "live mode" or "demo mode", one of the two.

I a in for an ati straton flex als my tank is to wide for the pro. My quistion is, the pro is gen 2 is the flex a gen one so with more white leds or is the flex a gen 2?

I am in europe (Holland) neighbour from Germany. I know the Staton G2 is out and i can order it. It has way more blue leds and les UV. For the flex i can get it to, but i wondered if the flex is a straton pro g2 in other dimensions or a pro g2 in other dimension.

My tank is 39inch deep so one straton doesn’t cover that.

Good. Because I just bought a Straton Pro while they were on sale and was bummed for a second I didn’t wait for the g2. I prefer a bluer spectrum, but can get the tank very blue with the current Flourescent setting for ramp up/down.

Why would you prefer uv above royal blue? There is only certain uv you need. There is also green and red in it, quite a lot to. Better for a wide spectrum but corals don’t have red and green in the ocean. Those colours are gone after around 10 inch i thought

green goes deep. red not so much.

Because I want to match a natural spectrum from a reasonably shallow depth, not 100 feet down. In those shallower depths, blue is nowhere near as dominant as it is in many reef tanks. If you look at the sort of graph in the post above, there’s plenty of uv present.

Or

2. GHL mitras 3 light bar, sky white turning down the red, or ocean blue turning down the blue, plus coral pop in both cases to add uv (also turning down its blue).

Out of curiosity have you looked at the Quanta Atlas? My understanding is that it has a 14,000k look. I believe they also have bars. The Atlas has no fan.

There is also the possibility of buying Philips Coral Care Gen 2 but know that they may be end of life. I've read nowhere of a Gen 3 in the works either.

Note 2: ATI related I'm surprised by the new kits having a more blue spectrum. I always had the belief that EMEA was more into the natural look and not the heavy blue saturation vibe we have here in AMS
Note 3: I do not own either Quanta Atlas, their bars, or the Philips Coral Care Gen 2 - just on my radar as I like the passive cooling technology.

Yes, I was confident in it being a good choice. I was just commenting on making it even more blue and less uv being undesirable for my personal goal. :)

I understand, and am still considering the gen 1. I’m not sure that the blues are not needing to turn down for my preference, but that can be addressed later. 10k is bluer than I’m looking for.

Thanks. I think that is bluer than I want. My original 10k 175 w mh bulbs from 30 years ago were great, but when I upgraded to 250 w double ended mh bulbs, the 10k were just too blue for me.
