I am currently running them at 55% max at 10” off the water.

Perfect! Very similar to my size. How is the light spill?

@Randy Holmes-Farley and others, I did just figure out (maybe I am late to the party) that you do not need to control them via your cell phone APP. Once the lights are on your network and given a name, if you are on the local network you can simply type in HTTP://leftstraton (in my case) and the control interface comes up there. It is WAY easier to work with on a computer than the phone.

I am now going to reconfigure them to be controllable by segment and answer that question about whether spectrum or just output can be controlled by segment.

Not bad at all, they intentionally recessed each LED into the fixture to reduce spillage. Much less than fixtures that have basically surface mounted LEDs.

yup! Give it a shot, I am mucking around now. Going to make a wacky setup with 20K sections and 10K sections. I'll share a pic when I do.

Under quick review they are pretty good. I think they said it is all calculated by the LEDs you are powering and the individual levels and temps. So a lot goes into the estimate.

Under initial setup, select the option to control each module individually. Then put each "section" into its own group (foreground of this pic). I rather confusingly numbered the sections from left to right on my tank 1-8. If you click the little square beside each section it will blink live so you can see which section is which. Then, when you have created each section into a group, on the main screen that you can see in the background in this pic you an select each group to assign a schedule, power levels, and color.

I have thought about buying the model 102, to illuminate a 23 inch x 16 inch tank, is that tank too small?

Within the pre-setting like SPS, Deep Sea, etc., is there a way to customize the presetting, for example add or reduce just white light?

I read that wrong the first time. I think you would be spilling light out of the tank. The 102 is actually pretty big.

The unit is 13" x 18" so it would be almost the entire size of the tank. You would have excellent coverage and no shadowing, there may be light spillage issues, but I dont know what the area around your tank looks like. good luck

I am not sure what you mean by turn the light on and off. I would just power it on and off with a controller if you want that, but I leave mine on all the time and turn colors/segments off using the photoperiod schedule. Anywhere a section is dragged to 0% it is off.

You can customize any of the presets and save them as something new.
