I understand, and am still considering the gen 1. I’m not sure that the blues are not needing to turn down for my preference, but that can be addressed later. 10k is bluer than I’m looking for.

Although I prefer a bluer look, with my Straton Pros I'm going with the white schedule in the middle of my photoperiod to hit even higher PAR for a couple of hours. I have to say, I'm enjoying the fish more as they definitely look better in the white light. Not so much the tenuis... But the the non tenuis purples, blues look nice. I'll just look at the teni's during the rest of photoperiod.

I believe you know all the generations, but just in case I’ll list them again.

Gen 1 - Straton
Gen 2 - Straton Pro
Gen 3 - Straton Pro 2

Gen 1 and Gen 2 come pretty white - probably 8K-10K color. There are setting for shallow reef pre programmed and it’s quite amber.

That doesn’t sound like an improvement to me and would make me less interested in it.

it was done because of customer and corals breeders in Germany that complained that the UV burned their corals , the light also was to white- yellowish and looked same you pee in the water . I had some stratons and sold them because of this, reefi or radion give much nicer colors.

There’s still a ton of RB and B LEDs in Pro. Can’t you just dial it in to the color you want by turning down whites or UV’s or whatever

I have no doubt that typical customers want something different than I do. I need only look at all the tanks with unnaturally blue high par light to see that.

Thanks, yes. The Straton pro is in my top two. I expect the pro 2 would not be. :)

Yes you can. I run something close to AB+ (Radion Blue’s spectrum) for the second part of my photo period (I run 10-12k for the first half) and I get 400 PAR 9” deep. Whites are basically around 30-40% in this setting. I ramp up and down with whites at 5% for the color pop.

Do you perhaps know if the traton flex is a g2 pro of a g1 pro design?

you can adjust it , but it will never nice as orphek, reefi or radions, and what is the point to have a strong led if most of the leds you can't use it? better spend money in a led that is so you want

Actually i don't run it very blue as it is common in the US, but I like to have a good pop and good colors even under daylight and I could just never get it same than radion or reefi or bars. my reefi i can set up them white with all colors be nice and not an ugly yellowish same the straton.Some like , i don't

The competition, in my mind, are 4 GHL mitras light bars (3 skywhite or ocean blue, and one coral pop). Same features: good spectrum control, bight, no fan, and fits my canopy.

Dang that’s the closest I’ve seen a yellow tang look in an aquarium compared to pics from the wild. So vibrant!

It's a 120 gallon, 48" x 24" x 24".

It has a glass center brace which gives the Straton's an edge over the light bars from that perspective. .

That’s exactly what I did, 2x 102’s in a canopy for a 120-gallon 48” tank. Coverage is good.

I cannot answer that with any authority as I've never used the light, but my expectation is that it would be plenty bright. I'm hoping and expecting to keep bright light loving organisms.

But I'm sure current users of the Straton Pro would be able to give an answer. :)
