woah interesting I have never seen that screen. I wonder if I have an older generation of the app. Or is there maybe a Straton Pro G2 app and I am on the G1? hrm. Either way, agreed, that is not an acclimation mode, which automatically reduces output and ramps it up over 2-3 weeks, that is just a reduced power setting. The user has to go in and up the power manually from what I can tell.

Not sure if we're rocking different versions but it isn't the most intuitive thing. I hit "presettings"- the star at the top left of the charts page between "settings" and "nodes" then load a preset to get there.

biggest concerns I would have are which LEDs are in use, how hard they are being driven, and the power supply in use. Three of the big attractors for me to the Straton were high quality emitters (color quality, longevity), being driven well below capacity (better lifespan), with a high quality meanwell power supply (longevity).

I understand that the Kassray LEDs are CREE imported from the USA and part of ATI's structural parts are purchased in China through Würth Company (sorry for the initial mistake) in Germany.

I agree with your comments completely but us mere mortals will never really know.

Mine comes tomorrow. I had my math wrong and realized my studs are NOT directly over the middle like I thought (15’) but actually 13’, I think I may be able to squeeze it to 14 in depending on the exact position of the stud. We’re talking width, not length. The studs run lengthwise over the aquarium.

Is it really going to be that big of an issue if it isn’t EXACTLY over the middle? If it doesn’t work I’ll just put something up there in between the studs so I can mount it directly in the middle.

Just use drywall anchors. That’s what I did. If you get the right ones, they hold a ton of weight and don’t rip through the drywall besides putting a crap ton of force on it.

Looks great! Should be able to just raise it a bit and the middle area will get the crossing of light paths.

you can also slant them slightly towards the middle with a slight adjustment to the hanger wires.

Yep, that’s the one I have. I didn’t have a G1 so I can’t compare it to the previous one but the light is great. My previous like was an AI 16 so…I’m not really an expert.

I have two 204’s over a 71x30x21 and the spread was fine once I raised it. My system is primarily going to be SPS. When I chatted with ATI they told me three 153’s would be overkill on my system.

I've been looking in to these a bit myself. I think you could probably get away with 2 x 153s on that 60" setup. I'm looking at lighting my 72x36x30 with 3x102s. I think if you want to be completely safe, I would say 3x102s for your setup based on the data out there. Good luck and share if you get them. Can't make up my mind...

I am thinking 3 102's for my 72X30X25. I have quanta bars already that I think I am going to leave on (may be complete overkill). Also considering 2 102's and keeping my reefi uno in the middle.

I have 3 102's on a 72 inch and they are plenty. I agree that 3 on a 60" is overkill. IMO, 2 is enough.

I have the G1, which are basically the 153s. I have 2 over my tank - 60x24x24 and have great spread and PAR.

With the added width, I think 2x 204 would be better. If you had a 72” long then I’d say go 3x 153 or 3x 204 (lengthy side parallel with width of tank).

I am setting up a new tank, looking seriously at these lights now. Tank is 72"x36"24". 36" front to back. I am thinking I am best off with (3) Straton G2 Pro153. Any thoughts. This is an SPS tank.

My guess is that would be solid. I run 3 of the OG Stratons (Same footprint as the Pro153) over my 72 inch tank and it's like a blanket of light with SPS growing and coloring up nicely. Granted, my tank is about 27 inches deep (not 36) but I'd be totally comfortable running my setup over a tank with your dimmensions.

Another option, assuming money is no object (ha!), would be to run three of the Pro 204 lights over your system, running long-ways back to front on your tank. That would give you maximum coverage. But honestly, that may be overkill.

There’s really no such thing as overkill with SPS.

I’m running two 204’s on a similar size tank and it’s enough.
