Thank you! The SPS grow-out system is looking amazing now. Hard part will be selecting which corals make it into my display tank.

I’ve never really been a big SPS fan, but the more I see your collection, the bigger fan I’m becoming! Beautiful stuff!

I will believe it when I see the first frag glued to one of the massive rocks, while a swarm of yellow tangs are freaking out cuz half your body is leaning over the tank, from the step ladder, trying to mount it!!

Cant wait to see it my friend!

Glad you are coming over next weekend to help with the lights, Corey!

I plan to move the rock into three islands inside the display tank. Working on return plumbing this weekend. Sea Swirls getting installed soon and will experiment with two different Iwaki return pumps to see which one is the right fit for the system (ie, Iwaki MD-70 vs. Iwaki MD-100).

The moment is getting closer...... ;) ;)

I've been following this thread off and on for a while (green with envy ;Drool so I had to take a break (or get a divorce!)). Spent the last few days rereading from the beginning expecting to see the finished masterpiece at the end. R2R must have lost a couple of pages!!!!!

Seriously though, I'm speechless. There are just no words.......

And I want frags - how do I get some?

SeaSwirls and external return pumps are awesome. I can't say enough positive feedback about the sea swirl product and support team. Been running mine for >10 years. Had one serviced because of too much Calcium buildup and broke of tooth off the gears. Reasonable rebuild price and fast service.
(I've been running MP40's as well the past year, they've required a lot more maintenance than my sea swirl based external return pumps.)

I am looking forward to using sea swirls as well. Glad your sea swirls have exceeded your expectations.

Big tank has been wet for a few years with live rock curing like a fine bottle of wine ... only gets better with age. The new system should be fully operational soon. Just need to finish the return lines and get the QT for new fish arrivals ready.

Lights were installed today with help from my friends Corey @biecacka and Joe from Columbus.

Have I misunderstood or is this nearly four years and not wet yet? I must have missed some posts (I have dipped into this thread from time to time over the years). ;)

Are the lights halide and led?
Yes. 2 400 watt halides per fixture with led strips on each side. He decided to try out the Hamilton 20k on his frag tanks and like them so he’s putting them on the big tank. They are reefbrite halide systems I believe. They are beautiful! Have me thinking of putting the 250 watt versions over my tank.
