Hello,
I was wondering what the best sump return pumps are in y'all's opinion? Something around 800GPH?
Thanks

That's it?
Yes don't fall for the sticker hype. Now that being said a nice Sicce or big name pump might run forever and be bullet proof. But at the end of the day you are just moving water. knowing you are on a tight budget look at vivosun pumps. cheap and they work. 25$ prime delivery if it fails.

I'd say observed would be better so I can trust the word.

And submersible.
Will you be replumbing? Or using existing return plumbing (and, plumbing size)?

Traditional return nozzle or RFG(s)?

Anticipated well height between sump water line and display water line?

Yup, how far up out of water is this pump pushing water?

I assume around 3.5-4.5ft, but I don’t know your layout; why don’t we start there? Sump in stand? Or remote sump?

As wvaquatics showed...we had that one in our 75 gallon tank sump....worked great...still have 2 for backups and salt mixing.

Sump will be in stand. Around 4.5. how do I return without drilling? I'm already running hob overflow.

So you should shoot for a pump which moves around 950-1,100gph (advertised)… probably 1” plumbing…

And just use one of these! (With the 3/4” barbs cut off to omit flow restriction… 3/4” maxes out around 750GPH)

I'll probably be doing one of these.

If I do 950 GPH do I need a overflow that'll match 950?

Its not the overflow. Its pipe restriction. a 3/4 pvc pipe can only pass so much water per hour. If you max that out you can flood. So your pump should match your drains flow and not the maximum. Schedule 40 PVC maximum flow is between 6-12 gpm. So the maximum a 3/4 drain can drain in one hour is 720 gallons. 2 3/4 1440 and so on.
