My chalices are growing and my zoas are as well. Perhaps you have too many biopellets in the reactor? Everything is thriving in my tank, except for my Astreas, but that could be because I have higher Mg levels for some reason. Please post your water parameters. And have you calibrated your refractometer with 35ppt solution, or RO/DI?

120 tank, 30 sump. 10 fish, 500 ml of pellets in a nextreef Mr1 pushed by a maxijet 1200.

I had a 135 gallon system volume heavily stocked with corals and about 6 fish and ran a litre of the pellets but I fed at least 3 times what you do plus dosed AA.

Your tank and sump exact mine. And I looked at BRS site and figured I would need 2 cups of pellets so it would be about what you are using. So is there a such thing as too clean water for many LPS?

If the water is too clean, too pure, too ideal, make it dirty. Add more food. Have a little fun. The trick is finding out what you can do, and not tip the scales in the wrong direction. I just tested the water last night, and everything is perfect. I have LPS in my system that seem to be quite happy.

Ive had mince since christmas. then lost them in april due to a power outage for 25 hours. they sat for over a week (I was on vacation) so I rinsed them in Ro/Di and started all over again. I was and have been please (sorta) with the results. that said, I realized last week that I have been starving them and my tank and my corals have suffered thus. we are now ramping up feedings to 3x daily so hopefully that will solve the issue.

I know many with Ecobak and most of them have good results. I know I will get there eventually... just gotta make sure I keep everything straight...

Have you ever tried to feed your chalices? At night after you've feed your fish and the lights are out, mine open up with sweepers and mouths. You might try target feeding yours some cyclop eeze or mini mysis. If I were to change any of your numbers, I'd:

increase Mg to 1400ppm
increase Alk to 8.5 dKH
increase Salinity to 1.026 sg

And feed more. :)

I am acually working on increasing those numbers now. Also working on feeding more often.

I use TLF 550 reactor, 750 ml.of pellets in it. Very little tumble.I don't think you need pellets to tumble to much.

What pump are you using for the TLF reactor?
