About a month ago my DIY side/fill led light strips started to act up. So I decided on a different plan of action. I’m currently slowly buying equipment to upgrade to a 40 breeder. My lighting plans for the 40 breeder are 2 kessil a160we’s and t5’s. Instead of sinking more money in to my side lights, I bought my second kessil and mounted it on my biocube.

I will be sanding, painting and securing the wood bracket soon. I think this will work out well though. I was going to use a bent piece of metal over the top, similar to what I had before, but a buddy of mine had this idea. Once painted, and the cords are taken care of, I think this will look a lot cleaner.

Boy everything looks incredible. Love the monti and the palys. I'm actually looks for some yellow cloves.
Thank you very much! The montis are growing very fast. It’s funny, the yellow polyps came on the rock when I bought the tank. I had originally tried to eradicate them. Had almost killed them all off with kalk paste when I had my first purple acro RTN problem. At the time I thought that it might have been related to my use of the kalk paste so I stopped. Now that they have grown out I really do love them. I know that I will need to keep them in check, but they are very nice in person. Lots of beautiful movement and the yellow and green colors really come out at night when the lights turn more blue. I am really glad I didn’t remove them now.

Picture update. Things have been running smooth. I’m still slowly ramping up the intensity on my lighting since I added the 2nd kessil a160we. My lunar lights and side cree led lights are still not working. I need to borrow my friends soldering iron and get those fixed.

I did see our fire shrimp cleaning our tail spot blenny a few weeks ago. That was really fun to watch.

This is very impressive. keep it up. I like how big tanks look grown out but I LOVE how small tanks look when they are at their peeks.

Gorgeous layout & livestock. Coral eye candy

One of my favorite tanks here.
Thanks guys! I still feel like a beginner trying my hardest to not fail. It seems like every time I feel good about how things are running, a week or two later something happens to set my anxiety off.

You have one of my favorites too. It looks amazing now, but it’s going to be great when those zoas, palys and mushrooms really take off!
Your right. I'll have a week where everything is perfect then another week where I'm not happy with a coral. It's a tough game for OCD people lol. I like the challenge because I think it's rare to have a perfect tank 365 days a year.
