Is this normal for baby yellow tang? The fin is rotting? Is directly from Biota group.

I’ve seen an abundance of fun deformity with biota yellows and can’t say it’s a fault of the facility but rather genetic or frequent breeding
Rarely do I see the upper dorsal grow to normal conformity but fish remains healthy with positive growth

Looks healthy like how mine was when it arrived

It's possible it could have some minor dorsal deformity but it's also possible that it'll just finish growing out normally

This doesn't look as severe as the horribly crooked spines of some Neon Tetras, for example.

Looks to me like it may have had some damage but new growth has come in (the lighter colored trailing edge).
Clearer pics and/or video would help us get a better look.

Their response was correct, it's pretty normal for them and grows out in days..

Yes - IMO, this lighter color finnage is new growth, from where the fin had been eroded before you got the fish. Biota should perhaps have held this fish back from sale for a bit longer to get it looking better, but the fins themselves won't be an issue.

Sorry about your loss. I hope Biota will help address the situation in a reasonable way. I have a 1" yellow tang from Biota and 4 months later it is large and beautifully colored so they are worth it.

Yeah they have a 7 days guarantee. I did everything they asked in acclimation guide plus all my other fish are fine no signs of disease. 6 hour before dead it was completely fine not signs of stress.

An acclimation box or QT might help the next as well. Get it eating well before intro to your main display

I have had a Biota yellow tang in my tank for about 2 weeks. It arrived with similar fin damage and today looks perfectly healed.
