Blue Plus OR2 vs OR3 (looks)

I see the OR3 touts new LED's, is there a major difference in the look compared to the OR2? Is it the same shade of blue or is there a difference?

I think they tweeked the color a bit, but the main difference is they went from single chip LED's (OR2) to dual chip LED's (OR3). Dual chip run with each chip at half wattage so should have more longevity.
I've run OR2 supplement and switched my current 210g from a mainstay light (ATL Hybrid with 2 Coral+, 2 Blue+ and three XR30) to 8 OR3 bars on a SPS tank with zero issues and improved color. Made the switch about 4 month ago. PAR went up and more even than with the ATL.

That’s what I’m doing, I have two 48 inch aquatic life hybrid with 8 total 48 inch blue plus ati bulbs and 5 total radion XR30 g4 pro. I’m ditching the T5 and add two more xr 30 pros and adding 4 total 48 inch or3 blue plus to go all LED for lower heat in my fish room.

I have tried OR2 and loved the look, just hoping I love the OR3. Hoping for that same deep vibrant blue

I have the OR3 blue plus on my 120 for a few days now. Really like the dawn dusk look.
It reminds me of the old blue actinics of the 80's.
Quite a few local reefers are replacing their radions with banks of these with great results.
If I was to go full led this is what I would use.

they is not a lot of difference between the or 3 and or 2 , the real reason from what I heard, should not be an improvement in technologies, but just that orphek changed manufacturer, the improved longevity is just a marketing argument ,if you compare the or 2 and or 3 the performance is not better and the warranty time is the same

They went from a single chip to a dual chip LED so actually a good improvement in technologies. Thread was about color anyway...
