Blue Skimmate! What is going on?

If you have died rock.. I think you found your answer. As for why? Maybe pH or other reaction has allowed some of the dye to be released.

Again - the think to do would be examine a few cups of water from the tank in a clear glass to see if it is blue as well.
I have had a look and it’s not clear but also doesn’t seem to have any tinge of any colour to it.

Did you use any bacteria to cycle the tank or possibly Dr Tim’s products specifically waste away?
No, just fish food to cycle. I did have some Fritz zyme turbo start 9 but didn’t end up using it.

Based on all the replies it seems as though it could be one of a few things.
- bloom of phyto
- dye from rocks
- something related to the food I am using

I have stopped feeding with the flakes to see if that fixes the issue.
The corals (sps and lps) and fish seem very happy still, all feeding, extended etc. as expected so unless that changes I will monitor to see if the food removal changes things over the next week or so.
Thanks all for your replies!

Smurf poo ? Lol !!
I would have guessed that the tank was dosed with copper
