I picked up a nice little frag of blue sympodium from the LFS shortly after my tank was done cycling. It looked great for about two weeks, and did the sympodium routine, opening up during the day and closing at night. But then I had about ten days of narsty bacterial bloom, and the sympodium did not like this one bit. It closed up all of it's cute little polyps, and has yet to re-open for business. I guess that this is just a stress-induced response, but now that the bloom has passed and water quality is impeccable, I really wish they would perk back up.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Is there anything in particular that might aid or expedite their recovery?

I suppose an iodine check is in order. I was hoping that one be one of those things that I'd never really need to test for, as I currently do 20 percent weekly water changes, but iodine seems to be my only option right now
