Great addition...they eat pods so as long as you have a healthy population and no other competition for him you are good to go. I have one in my 80 frag tank :)

Will is start moving more once it gets comfortable..like it hasn't explored yet . Unless the hermits stumbled across it...

So it has this weird orange patter one the underneath it's belly but only two small prominent circles.. reproductive organ?

We have a high copepod count. And are switching to a 30 gal. Right now it's small..but my hermits keep messing with it. And it gets stuck to the hammer head :( we asked the dude if it was compatible with our tank...he said yes it would be fine...

Pipefish should not really be in tanks with stinging coral. They have skin instead of scales which makes them vulnerable to stings. Maybe offer a little chopped frozen mysis. Some pipes can be trained on to it. That is a relief if you are not sute how long your pods will last. They are voracious eaters.

Found a good hiding spot. It loves my rock full of pulsing xenias. Their trunks are thick and long so it can stay under the pulsing polyps and get the copepods that scurry all over my rocks...it's crazy at night time...they remind me of roaches kinda..or rolly Polly's when u lift up a long. If our supply runs low we have a local fish store that sells live copepods for cheap.

Ive found the best thing to do to make sure there are enough pods is every 2 months I get a delivery from Algae barn (it just more convenient imo). Mine likes to hang out on my frag rack and makes the yellow fiji leather into a hammock. Silly lil dudes. How is yours doing? :)

Had a Dragonsface pipefish when I first started my 30 gallon a year or so ago, I eventually got mine to eat PE Calanus but it was eaten by my Flower Anemone, Now I have a Bluestripe Pipefish that eats Nutramar Ova.
