I bought a green BTA from my LFS a while back and it's been remarkably healthy, but moving every night. I figured it was just adjusting to the light cycle/exploring the tank. Yesterday it found a nice crevice in the live rock and seemed to settle down, but this morning I awoke to find that it had been burned by the heater. The unburned parts look healthy, but the rest does not. My clown is nipping at some of the damaged tissue. What course of action would you recommend? I don't think it's going to die, but if it does, I know it can wipe out my tank. It looks like this now.

Update: I'm not so sure anymore that it's not going to die. This is it now.

Yea I’d take it out, it’s toast..
You really think so? The burnt tissue does look pretty bad, but even after 12 hours, the tentacles are still green and inflated (much moreso than in the first two pictures.) I was planning on keeping a very close eye on it and taking it out as soon as I thought it was dead. It was a pretty big investment for me and I'd hate to seal its fate prematurely.

Hard call for this one, btas are resilient though. How big is the tank because if its in a small tank and dies it will have much larger consequences than if it was a larger tank?

how is it doing?
Thanks for the response. It seemed to be doing better last night, it had enough energy and structural integrity to move from my rock to the wall of the tank. Unfortunately, this morning I found that, despite my best efforts to the contrary, it found its way into the filter intake, so I took it out of the tank. It's possible it was still alive when I removed it, but I doubt it would have survived long, and since I don't have an available quarantine tank right now, I couldn't risk it.
