This is about 1.5 yrs of growth for me. It definitely likes to encrust first...taking off for me now. It's more vibrant in higher nutrients. Mine is about 5nitrate. Lil pale for my tasting. Look better at 20....last month...

2 months later. Colors are slow to come back. It also hasn't grown much, other than encrusting a bunch.

So how are these looking now? Are you guys blasting them with par?

A local reefer is selling a frag and I'd like to see what they turned into for you guys before I contact him.

When I saw the this thread I was so excited. This is a very nice piece. Probably my top 5 in my collection. This is a true 20k picture.

I have had this piece for over 2 yrs now. At first it did nothing and just encrusted. I know it suppose to be a Stag, but it may shoot upwards anytime now. Weird though it has not. It is in a spot where it is situated in a corner of my tank. This corner gets a lot of flow, which in my opinion is why it is so compact in shape. I also have the RR Red Diablo which is suppose to be a Stag. It is growing in a very similar shape.

Really can’t beat the colors on this somewhat older piece. Adam has a good eye picking them out, or maybe he is just lucky and has patience.

Looks like its wanting to color up on the new growth/tips @reef80 . These guys really do encrust before they take off! If I pull the trigger on it I'll post a picture.

Looking great @goodtogo ! Awesome colony you've grown

Anyone have luck getting good coloration on this one in lower par ~275-300? I have a frag I'd like to put in this spot but a bit worried about the low par there.

Mine's under pretty high PAR of 500+. I had no branching for quite a while, but once it hit the edges of the plug, it started shooting out branches that have grown like crazy over the last few weeks. Sorry for the crappy pic. It's blown up from a cell phone pic.

I have had mine for awhile but it has done nothing since I put it in the frag tank

Might try to move it to higher par to see what happens

How long have you had it? Going back thru some old threads, this one seems to be super slow at coloring up, although some guys get decent growth out of it.
