So it seems my dream sump does not exist, and I must make it myself (72" x 20" x 16"). Since the space inside my stand is so tight, and I have limited space to get a pre-built sump in there, I must build it inside the stand. So my question is, what type of glue has been tried and true for this application? A friend suggested I screw the sump together, and then apply silicone on the inside, but I am leery of doing that. Anyone with experience in this type of project that can help guide me? Like I said, I will be building it in site (inside the stand), so there is basically no room for errors.

Unfortunately, I don't think screws and silicon would work. You will need to use an acrylic solvent. I'm not an acrylic fabricator but I can't even imagine trying to get that done correctly working under a stand. It is a challenge for many people to do correctly on a workbench.

But I don't recommend doing it in the stand. It needs to be square. You will risk leaks and once set ruin the acrylic

Is it possible to drop the sump down from the top, before you put the tank on the stand?
There are modular sumps, one is "Seamless Sumps". You could slide in different sizes, and connect them once they are under the sump. In theory you can attach and detach them with (some) water in them.

It would be helpful if you could provide measurements of your stand. I Would want to know the clear interior dimensions, as well as the opening sizes between vertical supports. A photo of the front of the stand would be helpful as well (with the doors open or off).
