Has anyone tried out the fixtures from bysenled.com?

Would the 120w be good enough to sustain an 18" deep SPS tank? They use 3 watt crees in their fixtures.

I could not find any reference on their site that their fixtures use Cree LEDs.

The main issue we are going to see over the next few months are fixtures composed of LEDs that are not within optimal specs for reef usage.

Also, not all Crees are even created equal. There is different batches created that function in different spectrums for every type of Cree led.

That's just the type of Cree.... those are the ones I use but i used the ones from reefledlights.com tested, tried, true they have tested these a lot..u do have to find out what brand they are and what spectrum they put out because not all xr-e are created equally.

The XR-E Q5 are the newest version of the XR-E's. However, you probably also want to know what bin they are in to see whether they are a bluish white or yellowish white.

Ok I got a response:

"We use cree led bulbs ,cree is a brand in USA .The quality is higher ,and the price also higher .
We use blue lights with 430-470nm wavelength ,this is the most suitable wavelength for corals growing ,you can research it on the internet .
With white lights (10000-14000k )the Ra can be 90 above ,show the corals orginal colors ,make them looks very beautiful and colorful .
There are 60,90,120 lighting degree for your choice ,according to the depth of your tank ,I recommend you to use 90 lighting degree ,it will make your corals get adequate lighting in all ,there will no shadow in the corner ."

Is the information that I needed? Are these good LED's for aquarium use?

Not a problem...just wanted to make sure you saw it. You dont trust the Aussies HAHAHA. j/k Wish i could help you more but i know very basic stuff about LEDs...Good luck with your decision!!

Cree is definitely a quality LED and they are using the newest versions of the XR-E. I don't think that you'll have any issues with the LEDs themselves, but I have no experience with the company.

So in your opinion I should be able to keep SPS under this light?
My tank is only 18" deep.

89"L x 20"w x 18"D

It is actually a 8 ft tank but I have a coast to coast overflow at one end.

I was told that I need 5 units for my size tank but I think I can get by with 4 with 90 degree optics?

Well, 90 degree lenses should be fine with that depth water. My guess is that you would be alright with 4 of these, but it is only a guess. If that's not enough, I assume you could add a fifth?

Interesting. I wounder what mA they are driving the LEDs at

If they are the CREE Q5 driven at 700mA they would need one heck of a heatsink if its the same size as the Aussi 1 watter. The AI Sol has 24 XP-E LEDs and a very well thought out thermal management design.

The problem with a lot of these Chinese fixtures is they skimp on the heatsink and generally last as long as the fans do.

As far a looks the D3 bin of the Royal blue is good I prefer D316 or D315. The Cool white should be WC or Cooler.

I would see one on a reef tank first and see how hot it gets and if the corals look good.
