Looks delicious!

I'm trying to figure out how much sand I need... How many pounds did you use for your footprint? I used one of the "sand calculators" and it said 220# for me (at 2" deep), that sounds like twice the amount I'd need, right?
I bought 129lbs (don't ask) and then plugged it into a calculator afterwards and it claims it'll be between 1.4 and 1.6 inches if leveled out across the tank. My ground footprint is 59x29.5

Looks pretty accurate so far, but I don't know how even everything is in there right now. I already knew I was going to be pulling away from the center some to put in the rock so I didn't go too deep to begin with, I figure I'll add more if I need to later.

I’ve missed quite a bit! Why the new tank? What is the new tank?
I moved, downsized into a cube for the move.

Bought a cade 1500 s2/p and slacked for about 9 months on progressing with it. Finally started this week.

Once this is ready to go fully I'm moving my livestock from the cube into it and turning the cube into a seahorse/pipefish/garden eel tank

How exciting! How many gallons is the 1500? I’ve been considering a garden eel tank but it seems like a lot of work!

Another calculator tried to tell me I'd need close to 2x this much and I knew from experience that was going to be way too much.
yeah, brs's calculator said 220 lbs, your link says 109.5 lbs.

Wiring cleaned up for everything so far. Got skimmer working correctly, maybe that'll help pull some of the white film out...

Fighting with tubing + heat gun trying to erase the seemingly permanent bend

My hands are cramping so it's break time.

Online to a-zon to buy some more of the lights I use in my cube sump for when I'm working down there and maybe something to put down there temporarily to help pull out some of this film so I don't eat through a filter roll.

Maybe 3d print a straight "brace"? Or something to hold in place while you heat and cool?

I've done that in the past but I used pipe I had.

Think About It GIF by Identity

smart, on that note I may have something in the garage that'll fit inside the tube :thinking-face:

Lights ordered for sump.
Some filter foam ordered to help catch some of the nasty.
Hopefully the correct connector now for my algae scrubber - the other was the wrong thread type, oops.

All that arrives tomorrow. Hopefully by Wednesday I'll be able to see in the tank :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Took a break from tank stuff, mowed while Matt weed-wacked. It's very Fl out there.

I realized I lost my urchin in the cube during the oxydator fiasco :loudly-crying-face: Only thing I can say for sure was lost... all the corals bounced back just fine after their night of stress. All the fish were fine. May have lost some snails but it's hard to tell who the hermits kill for their shells, who the dusky gets irritated with and kills, and who died via other means....

About to head out and pick up lunch for me & hubs.

Long day of waiting for a-zon deliveries (I'm no longer typing the word because it auto-creates a link to their site) so I can finish plumbing some things - scrubber, gfo reactor, etc.

Need to wipe down the glass in the tank already, noticed half the haze is just build up and it's not as bad as I thought.

Got and ate lunch.

Got my mp40 attached properly, realized the spacer from the thinner glass cade 1200s2 was still on it instead of the little thin grommet I actually needed for this tank. All better.

Got my sicce controller synced properly, all I had to do was turn my wifi off then on again for it to acknowledge the channel to initiate setup

Still waiting on that delivery.

Tank marginally clearer, I can see a few shells in there that came mixed with sand.

Rewatching ep 6 of rings of power because I fell asleep the other night, if my order still isn't here by the time this is done, making some cookie butter brownies :face-with-tears-of-joy:
