Hey @danieyella here's my Superman Montipora. Like I said, it grows pretty slowly higher in the light but the colors are cool. So close to almost being black flesh.

Ignore the patches of dying Ulva. It took hold and I'm currently (finally) winning thanks to a 1.5 x dose of Flux.
I had something that looked very similar to this in the old tank. It bleached out, then came back to life months later - it was gorgeous.

I think TSA has one called Yellow Fever or Midnight Monti (one's a Digitata, one's encrusting) that are black and yellow/orange in their pictures. I'm guessing it's very similar to this one. I'll likely get the Digitata eventually.

Time for some pony tank spam.

No matter what, it feels empty. I guess over the next week there will be uhh.... 2 coco-worms, and 23 more feather dusters being added :face-with-tears-of-joy:

(and a neon green sinularia)

Ponies are starting to get some saddling and various markings on them though :)

Darkest pony (also smallest), look at the patterning around the eyes

Mandarin, and a hint of a scallop

I have no idea what this one was after, it saw something interesting on the sandbed I guess

Supposed to have punctal plugs inserted Thursday morning. The eye dr thinks my twitch since Nov is from my chronic dry eye which *has* gotten better since starting this journey a year ago, but plateaued and isn't fully healing. Hopefully the plugs help, and stop the twitch as well. My fav part is how everyone is like "stress can cause eye twitches, stop being so stressed" - my brother in christ, the eye twitch is causing the stress, kindly f off.

Im still thinking about this...
Was going to Google "punctal plug", but I didn't. Realized that it sounds like puncture plug... started reminiscing my eye injury, I was hit in the eye with the hook of a bungee cord(fully extended and slipped), could only see white with blurs for days. It hurt and light made it worse. Couldn't see anything. The eye doctor tried dilating my pupils to inspect the retina. They didn't/ He couldn't, but the drops relieved the pain and helped focus the blur. He explained how the white part of the eye is a muscle, filled with fluid that keeps the retina pressed against the back of the eyeball, and mine had a Charlie horse, it also lost fluid/had "low pressure" from the impact, so the drops relax the muscle to dilate the pupil(explaining why it felt better).[remembering you mentioning dilation/punctal plug- pondering relevance] I had a detached retina and I refused the surgery. For 2 years, I saw non existing movements/ lights from that eye. Most the times it looked like a flashlight shining (a 1/4 circle @) the wall, at its worse- I would walk into the house and it was lighting struck the couch in front of me, enough to get your heart pumping/ full adrenaline response (so intense I would have to sit down and regain composure). It was hard to not be able to trust what you see with your own eyes, it was scary to realize how quickly/seamlessly my brain abandoned that eye. I found myself driving with my head turned to center the right(good) eye. But it's 99% better now(don't think I should go on a roller coaster though).
I lost track of where I was going with this but I hope it's as coherent as I thought. In my head, reading this makes you feel better :grimacing-face:

I currently have a big frozen order pending. I did a deep dive on nutrition and mysis shrimp specifically and all kinds of chaos because I'm a psychopath. I am waiting to place the order tomorrow so it doesn't ship and arrive while we're gone Friday or this weekend or something. That would be my luck somehow. Actual saltwater mysid, enriched brine, ocean plankton, regular mysis, and then variety assortment for the peninsula - as well as individually frozen silvers for the toad.

Also ordered a feeding trough from octoaquatics for the seahorses because they kept going into the trap to feast when I was trying to catch the wrasse. I think they'll do well with it.

Speaking of ... they'll be fine this short weekend I'm gone - I'll feed extra Friday morning and feed when we get home Sunday, but I need to figure out a feeding situation while we're gone in May. Guess I need a tank sitter for the first time ever. On the plus side, I can probably get whoever feeds the seahorse tank to also tend to the quail so we don't have to drop them off somewhere like last time.
