ICP results came back and something is elevating aluminum in the tank. I guess Sunday I'll be taking apart the mp40 and various other things to check them. :rolleyes:

Pretty sure no, I do have some random media in there but I don't think white ceramic....

There's some weird porous stuff but it's varying shades of browns if I recall correctly.

I'll be doing some digging on what it's made of either way...

Okay, xport cubes are ceramic according to some sources- but are dark brown and super porous. Could be the problem still?

xport write up on BRS states: "Another significant advantage the Xport Blocks has over the competition is that the material is never fired or heated. There is zero chance of aluminum leaching back into your aquarium and causing negative effects."

If I can't find anything else that's obviously the problem, I'll assume its them instead.

Iron zinc copper not detected, nickel detected (low and lower than the last test read)

I think it's the cubes. What's your po4 number? If you really need to lower it, small amounts of gfo would do the same. If you don't like gfo, because it's too aggressive, I believe smaller amounts of the cubes, replaced more often, may reduce the leaching of Al...

Gfo leaks from the reactor I had it in and stained my entire sump everything that orange color. I have 1/4 the recommend amount of the cubes in the sump.
