Cade Chaos Grimoire

Considered and acted upon....

2 pretty gorgs & a few mushrooms/leathers coming for the peninsula next week.

Spent some time plucking hair algae from the pony tank, also rearranged some rock in the peninsula.

Cloudy because snow is dissipating still.

If you look closely, you can see a few corals in the rocks - they just all disappear in here.... Too much space and they're not big enough yet.

I got my dexa results back, I love that I finally found a primary who was able to figure out my actual problem after YEARS of pain. Every weird test she's sending me for that seems unrelated, has come back abnormal or problematic. So yeah, not even 40 years old yet, already in osteopenia because my body doesn't understand how to collagen or connective tissue properly. :face-with-spiral-eyes: Also awaiting a sleep study because they think I might have central sleep apnea because my echo indicated elevated lung pressure, and uhhhh the walls of my heart are too thin, and I have 3 valve leaks.

Anyway, tanks are looking pretty alright. Got some 3d printing projects to sort out. I switched the prime to the toad tank, and the bracket for it sticks out way more than the glass that came with allows for, so I need to print a new this thing:

I want to evaluate adding a roller back there if I can find one that fits. I need to inspect dimensions for the IM one and the Redsea nano one and see if either matches the size where the sock drop is. Also considering a protein skimmer for back there as well, both of which would cut down the size/shape of what I need to print to protect the rest from evap.

The pest algae problem seems to finally be resolving itself here, courtesy of sea lettuce infestation. I'll take it.

I've been randomly tossing all my "freebie" zoas or palys in here. As well as adding any on that are super cheap with any orders I place. Still definitely want to add more terrible things in here though.

Ponies are good, might do a water change on them today, might not....

Got a really cool towel :)

That's crooked.....

Anyway, peninsula still looks like I don't have a single coral in it, somehow....

And the jungle is doing well, in fact, that big leaf is bigger than my head...

Need a flexible filament recommendation so I can print myself some ring splints as well, anyone use a good one they can recommend? @tbrown @Projects with Sam @Mhamilton0911 etc?
I've had luck with a translucent blue Microcenter Inland TPU I use for the buttons on the ParlaRoller housings but otherwise I don't do a lot of flexible.

don't have a pic of just the button and logo

This one is going to Adam

Flexible like TPU? I haven't ventured into that stuff yet. Stuck to PETG.

Looking at an order from seahorsesavvy because I wanted to add a couple more salty mollies to the pony tank. Going to pick up some cowrie and maybe mexican turbos as well - maybe more peppermint shrimp? The berghia I added have not been spotted since day one, and no aiptasia have disappeared .

Considering some gorgs or leathers to put in the peninsula (pony tank is pretty much capped other than space i'm saving for gsp and xenia to spread).
Flip over a rock at night and flashlight the underside? Mine were rarely seen except under rocks at night but they eventually got to a good number and pretty much eliminated 135 gallon tank full of Aiptasia in under a week once it became noticeable that they were eating it (about 3-4 weeks after adding them).

Trying to remember when I added them :thinking-face:

Looked it up, I ordered them exactly a month ago today. And that was a Friday. So we're getting close to 4 weeks since addition

Hopefully good things start showing soon!

Corals today, day off tomorrow. Headed to City office to start passport process & then to DMV to claim my gopher tortoise plate 🖤🐢

Corals made it in yesterday, I added a very fat peppermint shrimp to the pony tank as well. Very fat. We'll see if this one relocates itself to the sump or stays up top and eats aiptasia....
As well as another Mexican and a cowrie. Hopefully they help with algae over there.

One of my giant mithrax already dislodged the Blue Solomon in the peninsula so I need to put that back in place

I need to put this in better, I totally just tossed the two chunks in either side of the tank. Ponies don't care.
