The beach we go to in North Carolina, it is against the law (maybe city ordinance) to dig holes and leave them, you can be cited with a ticket. The police patrol the beach and make you fill them in.

Supposed to be like this here as well. But no one was patrolling yet, probably due to the incoming storm.

We stay a little south of there (well maybe a lot south lol) Wrightsville beach. It is not the same as it was when i was a kid. The city of Wilmington has exploded in growth. I barely recognize it from one year to the next.

Came home a day early because of the boat race making the area absolute chaos. Got in around 1am. Unpacked this morning, drinking some coffee, checking on the tanks (sitter did well), need to go pick up the noodle dog from the inlaws.

Morning, got myself some corals from gator last night. Coming this week. HBD to me.

Back to work today. Today marks the beginning of our new operating model, some changes to the team under me. Meet one of them for the first time today. First day back from vacation is always a whole ordeal, so this should be interesting.

Tanks are looking good since I was gone. Excited to get back on the "fill the peninsula" train.

Woke up at 330 this morning to take Skeletor out - hubs normally takes him out around midnight when he goes to bed, and he wasn't feeling well so he crashed early. RLS kicked in HARD (it was pretty bad to begin with last night) so I couldn't fall back asleep and if I continued to lay there I would have woken him up with my twitching.

So, as a result, I've been plotting and planning and plucking algae from the pony tank.

We'll get there with the Peninsula eventually....

BIG new plant stand coming today :) I need to mix up fresh soil - it's definitely time for a repot for a few of the plants. Maybe photos soon.... I also have like 6 new plants on order (oops)

I haven't been happy with the spectrum of my lights since I set the peninsula up and pulled the lights out of storage. It didn't retain my old settings. I dug up my notes and fixed it today. Looks much better, just need to monitor and see if I'll need to increase or not.

I swapped t5s (spectrum) when I did my canopy yesterday. I am much happier with the spectrum as well. Hopefully I can get the 1 bank of lights that didn't fire working tonight. Then it should look much better.
