Is this an actual Maleficent? If it is, it would be great. Thanks in advance.

Hard to tell from that pic. Mine is a nice deep red compared to that orangish color in that pic.

You can get one that you know is real from bubbaque on this site for just a little more. I just grabbed one a couple weeks ago.

What makes you question it? Do you like how it looks? It looks like a nice piece to me. That pic is bad and not well white balanced. I think that’s why it looks orange.
The biggest thing that's throwing me off is both the price and color. It's half off compared with other sites. Just being cautious due to limited space.

Maleficent often goes for around that price from very reputable sellers. If you like it I'd buy it! I would be shocked if they are trying to pull one over with this coral. Bubbaque and topshelfaquatics are other options for maleficent in that price range and trustworthy.

Thanks I might just give this a try then. As much as possible no shipping yet. I'll wait for RAP this year at Anaheim and check it out.

I'd buy it. If the polyps were all extended and the shape was a little more traditional, they'd probably be asking double. It looks like a little project, but decent size!

It’s actually a pretty fast grower and very hardy. That’s why the price is coming down. My 1” frag turned into a small colony in less than 6 months.

Oh wow that's something I didn't know. I should be able to tell then after three months if it's the real deal.
I think it’s different for everyone. Some corals grow fast for some people and others won’t. You may also get something known as a slow grower and it grow fast for you.

The maleficent has been a moderate grower for me. I think demand for it is still pretty high as it’s one of the most requested corals people get from me. The price I paid for mine still seems to be the price I see them going for. There might be a cheap one that pops up here and there but I’d say it’s usually $90-$125 depending on size.

I wouldn't paying the price if it's the real deal. Just don't want to buy a look-a-like coral.
