Hey everyone, after browsing similar chip glass threads I'm pretty sure this tank is toast?
The excitement of picking up this used cube with stand quickly became a downer as I was cleaning it .I'm pretty sure it happened somewhere while transporting it home, feeling like a rookie with how i secured it ,either way this is it's current condition and time to make a game plan.
unless there's a reseal god in the Bay Area,CA that not ridiculously expensive it might be an option?. Or as the feedback goes........Landfill !! Or time for a new reptile thanks for reading ,enjoy your Sunday!

Never.... ever.... trust any kind of chipped glass. Especially if it is containing any kind of liquid under static loading.
Thanks for responding the DIYer' MacGyver in me is like there has to be a fix but not in this situation it looks like. Will listen and search for something else.thank from a newbie!

Hey Pizzafam!,

I hate to be controversial but here goes... You might be able to get this to work...but test it out first with tap water. Slowly fill it with tapwater and see if it looks like it may work. About four or five years ago I got these reaaly thin frameless aquariums from Pet*o and had some freshwater fish in them for a few years.

A friend was selling their whole system and I adopted a Yellow-Belly Blue Tang, Desjardini Sailfin, coral beauty, a Snowflake clownfish paired with a percula clown, some green palys, two hairy mushrooms and a couple of inverts.

I had a huge piece of live Rock with the palys, a pistol shrimp, and the coral beauty in this chipped 16 gallon for awhile, and I realized it had a crack in the glass similar to yours the whole time, not to mention, that the construction was not the greatest and the glass is pretty thin. Amazingly, it held up, but it definitely was not my main tank.

If you have some critters, you can test it out and see if it can work for a little while, just be verrryy careful. I only recently got a replacement for this flimsy aquarium that is just a backup in case of emergencies, so it may be going the way of the recycle center soon.

A little controversy is always welcomed ,I love that idea but I think this being my first saltwater setup there's a drive for everything to be up to par and starting off solid so a bit hesitant. I do have a colony of about 500-700 Dubai roaches that I keep for my collared lizard but there in nice covered tub maybe not the best to put on display haha ,also we do have an empty 32.5 fluval flex which was the start to this saltwater journey but the aesthetics and configuration for the room its going in led me to the cube.will see and thanks for your feedback!!
