Chromis Aggresion

So I have a pretty straight forward question, are single chromis aggressive, ive heard they dwindle there own numbers from like 10 to 1, but I was wondering if I could keep one with peaceful fish, the type I like are the agile chromis and the blue reef chromis. It will be in a 60 cube, again, with peaceful fish like clown gobys and small wrasses, and maybe a dart fish (might add one clown). Thanks in advance for any help.

Chromis may go after any other chromis. Not sure it really matters what kind you get. Doubt they’d go after gobies or dart fish. Definitely unlikely to bother clowns.

Alright, so I might give one a go. I love dwarf angels and anthias but I don't think either are suitable for my tank. Dwarf Angels because they nip at corals, and anthias because im a newbie to large tanks. I think I will try to track down an agile chromis!

FWIW Clown gobies are cool fish but very shy and in a 60g you may rarely see it.

The clown goby is the only fish I currently have, and he's awesome, always searched where I can see, and he feeds from a pipette (so I don't over feed) and he swims up and just waits by the pipette, great active funny fish.

The regular blue green chromis or axil chromis should be fine. The blue reef chromis should be fine too, but they are more a bit on the aggressive side in my experience--they started reminding me of mean damsels at some point.

Alright, I might try a blue green chromis, ive heard bad storms about them, Im thinking of try a lyrtail anthias maybe, ive heard they might be ok in my tank, but if not, chromis!

He had the percula pinned in the corner ripping off fin.

You should be fine with one. If you get more they seem to 'disappear' over time. argh.

I had 7 in my current system. They never bothered any fish except one runt chromis. I donated the 6 bullies to one of my two favorite LFS' and kept the runt which is now out and about enjoying freedom. :)

That is not so strange except the part of 'the pinning thingy' and I hate to read of one doing this.

I started with 6 went down to 3 went back up.to six and down to 3 again in my 180 display, those 3 have been there for 4 years now with no issue, if your going to get a clown add the chromis before or at the same time, if the clown is added first the clown may be aggressive to the chromis.

Yes yes yes. They can be extremely agressive. Especially blue chromis. There are some chromis that are not so aggressive so you could find the right one if you want one.

While not EXACTLY a Chromis, the Sapphire Damselfish might be a safer bet. They are both types of Damsels but the Sapphire Damsel is much more peaceful and suited for a peaceful tank plus they have an amazing blue coloration!
