Sorry for no pictures here— pulled the shrimp out. anytime I introduce a new cleaner shrimp, it always ends up dying. It gets blotchy with spots and almost looks like it’s trying to molt but can’t and theres black spots on the whiskers. I have had 2 so far and both had a severe health decline (and died). Will not be buying a new one as they are quite pricey. Am I doing something wrong?
I have 2x clowns
1x Pom Pom
1x dragonet (very suitable pod population for him)
Cleanup crew / hermits / snails
And tons of LPS coral
All doing great!

Parameters:
25 gal
Salinity: 1.025
78°F
pH: 8.2
Alkalinity: 8.4
Calcium: 440 ppm
Magnesium: 1350 ppm
Nitrate: 7 ppm
Phosphate: 0.05 ppm
Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrite: 0 ppm

How soon after buying the shrimp do they die?
You aren't dosing hydrogen peroxide are you?
Did you buy the shrimp from a local store, or were they shipped to you?

From the symptoms, it sounds like what is commonly known as “black spot shell disease.” This is more of a symptom than a specific disease. Fungi, bacteria, algae, and protozoans can all grow on the shells of crustaceans, causing erosive damage that shows up as black spots. Because the shells of these animals only grow during the molting process, there is no treatment that will cure this problem between molts. Generally, if the animal molts frequently enough, the lesion will gradually heal on its own.

It happens about 1-1.5 wks after purchase. LFS store, never had a problem with any fish / coral I bought from there either. And yes, after looking it seems to be the black spot shell disease. Not dosing anything other than the Red Sea foundation pack. The shrimp lost all energy and could not move & eventually died so I pulled it out before any spike happened.

Sorry, I don't have a solution for you. Black spot disease is not really treatable on small crustaceans like that. I've never used the Red Sea Foundation Pack, but I don't see anything in it that would cause a problem like that.
