Hi, I have a question regarding my clownfish in my 6 gallon reefcasa. Specifically, I noticed that my new clown has displayed some fraying/ discoloration of its fins (I’m not sure how to add pictures but I’m working on attaching them now.)

I cycled the tank for about a month with turbo start bacteria, caribsea live rock and sand. There is a fire fish goby, Halloween hermit, and two snails in the tank as well. I am planning on adding an anemone, macro algae, and corals soon.

The tank has an auto-top off system that retrieves RO/DI water, and I perform weekly water changes. The lighting system is a hydra 32 (overkill I know, I originally bought a 20gallon water box but my girlfriend was worried that the landlord would have an issue with a tank of that size.) Otherwise, the one thing that concerns me is that the flow might be too strong in the tank, I don’t know if that would stress the little guy out. He’s seems happy, normal feeding and swimming behavior. I have never see. Any aggression between him and the goby.

Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated! This is my first salt water tank and above all I want to make sure the little friends are happy and healthy.

Can you upload a video? I need to see its respiration rate and swimming behavior. The spots could be ich, but it could also be the start of Brooklynella. At this point, I'm thinking it may have ich.....

In expanding on a large screen, I am seeing ich as Jay mentioned and fish will have to be moved to a separate treatment tank and treated with coppersafe at treatment level 2.25 for a full 30 days (do not interrupt this 30 day period) monitored by a reliable Copper Test kit such as Hanna Brand- No API brand. Also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone.
The display tank will have to be kept fishless (FALLOW) for 6-8 weeks to assure the existing parasites go through their life cycle without a host fish and die off and with occupants exposed, they too should go into quarantine
A quarantine tank can be as simple as a tank from a second hand store or a starter kit from Walmart which most of the needed essentials.

Hi, thank you so much for your help. One question- if I move the two fish into a quarantine tank can I leave the snails and hermit crab in the display tank without worrying that they will host the parasite over the thirty day period?

Yes - that is marine ich. Coppersafe would be my first choice, but there is another option for treatment, but it also requires an isolation tank, away from all invertebrates:
