Great build! I've seen a few people use those stands, if I ever went a custom tank that is the direction I would go in! How do you like the tank dimensions?

Highly recommend Framing Tech for 80/20 stands.

I LOVE the dimensions. I realized that I hate cube tanks. The key moment for me happened at a LFS and liking the RS Max E-260 so much more than the Reefer. The solid back wall with no overflow + extra height is great. Similar to @GoVols great S400, I like the shape.

I also love low shallow peninsula tanks, but that didn't work in my space.

Broke out the Seneye PAR, I'm getting double the PAR from the Orphek than from the Mitras :p:p:p

We're talking 800 PAR at the surface (8" above water line) Holy batman.

It's been running on slow acclimation this week, which is bit less PAR than what they were used too. Just switched to their color growth and measured, got 800+. I'm gonna run 75% of Coral Growth, that should be a bit more PAR, but hopefully gentle enough.

Don't know, but I know the SPS can get 500 with the Orphek at 100%, that's with 6 more inches of water above them. I was getting mid 200s with Mitras.

I suspect the lobo and acans on the bottom won't me go full power. I'm starting 75% this week.

I have one unhappy coral, my WWC silver silver acro. Not dead, but unhappy. Other SPS inches away are fine. Just let it ride.

Working on the scape. The plan was to sit my two small rocks on that STAX structure on the left, then put one ceramic rock in the middle. Just ordered this:

I'm gonna put a nem from @FarmerTy on that middle platform and hope he stays :eek::eek:

I'm gonna put this small rock in front of the above, glue all those acans on top, one small cave for fish.

My two hammers have grown so much that they topple over on the frag rock base. I want them on the bottom so they don't sting anyone again. Might glue the frag to a small piece of STAX for a better base.

My custom light bars are here and I installed them today. Man, those are some real lights. The first look shocked me literally. The pop spread and intensity from 120 degree lens is spot on.

Do you know what your target par will be?

Do you know what your target par will be?

It's a 26" tall tank, had a target was 300-450 for SPS in top half. As high as I can push it without hurting acans/lobos on the floor. With a 20" tall tank, I couldn't do that with Mitras.

From research, I knew the Radions were 2x the Mitras on PAR. I went with Orphek because I wanted less spill, more even color + less shade, and it appeared their LED choices better suited my color preference. The color on that BRS video really sold me, every led at 100% looked good to me, compared to other fixtures where you run 2-4 channels at < 30%.

EDIT: Plus, Orphek's US customer service is great.
