Hi I have about a 18” Colorado Sunburst. He has been in my 300 gal. tank for about one year. I run 4 radion 30 pros. Once or twice a week as the lights start to ramp down my anemone will shrink. I feed plenty of meaty frozen food for the animals. Is that normal?
Appreciate any thoughts

super normal. it’s going night night. remember anemones also require light, so as the lights ramp down it’s innate ability or desire is to shrinks down and use less energy for when the lights get back on.

at least that’s how i believe it works

Welcome - you’ll love this community!

I have a few CSBs and ChSBs and that’s completely normal.

Care to share a few pics of this 18” beauty?

thank you for that my friend. I must say I have never seen a Colorado sunburst this large. And I sure don’t want to see him sick

Does your anemone have any Clownfish tending it?
Marine Biology Ocean GIF
Yes I actually have 11 clowns in my tank. But four of the largest keep the rest of them away until the lights dim and they all swim into the neck of the anemone. Awesome to watch!!!

While you’re at it — would love to see your 300g monster tank, too. Start a build thread?

Btw: I’m a sucker for nems. Besides CSBs, my 175g has 3 ginormous (18-22”) Haddonis. I wish I have a 300g+ monster to keep them happy. Ha

I have some coral. But I also love fish. I have two Cuban Basset’s and I could probably feed them by hand. Same as three spotted blotches to name a few. This tank has been very much a joy for me and all my guests that come to the house. I will try to figure out how to send pictures. ( not very good at it) but if I have a problem I will have my tank maintenance company help me to send pics.
Regards,
Tom
