Colour lights

I have been getting mixed messages about what colour lights corals prefer. Some people say they prefer white lights and others say they prefer blue lights. My tank is all softies.

It really depends on the combination of coral species and the species of zooxanthellae it's using, it's microbiome can influence it also. To add to the complexity, the environmental conditions, light and chemestry, a coral grew under also plays a part. Some corals are very adaptable to changes in environmental conditions others are not. SOme corals will maintain relatively consistant colors under different conditions some corals can display very different colors and growth under different conditions. Your best success will come from matching the conditions your corals grew under
