Confirmation from experienced person's please..

I am told that bringing the salinity level of my koi pond to .1 percent will do good in removing parasites and help in osmosis. So my question is..... If my salinity test pen measures ppms (parts per million) and .1 percent of 1 million is 10000. I want to make my test pen read 1000 x 10. IS THIS CORRECT ? OR DO I EVEN HAVE TH CORRRECT , PERCENTAGE OF SALINITY? MATH ? PLEASE SONEONE EXPLAIN

1% = 10 ppt = 10,000 ppm

So if you are trying to reach .1%, it would be 1000ppm:
.1% = 1 ppt = 1000 ppm

ppt = parts per thousand
ppm = parts per million
