Hello,

why is this bird nest growing upside down?
it is in the middle of tank and LED light is 12 inches above surface on 85%

any idea?

exactly :)
i did not find any similar thread
what is the reason for that?

Hard to say really. Birds nest can have a pretty random growth pattern. If anything maybe it's getting too much light?

The coral may be trying to grow towards less lighting. Another thought may have to do with flow but probably unlikely

Pretty common for that type of BN to have some branches growing down. If you want more vertical growth it will need more light

My experience with Birdnest corals is they always grow in the direction the flow is pushing them.

At least to me the picture indicates the same thing happening, the flow is pushing the coral to grow down and too the right.
