I am trying to get the coraline algae off my glass because it has gotten out of control and interfering with my view. I have been scraping a little bit off the glass every day, but this is very time consuming. Does anyone know of an easier way to do this?

Your lights are spilling too much light onto the glass (and probably into the room) and that's why it grows like that. If there's anything you can do to block that light/reflect it back into the tank you'll get almost no coraline algae on the glass.

i dont mess with it on the back glass but when its on the front i scrape it off with a good ole fashioned razor blade, im sorry there is nothing time consuming about this hobby in my opinion,

Don't think you can't scratch glass with a razor...I grazed a 1/4" wide series of gouges into my old tank scraping dried coraline off before I set it up. Didn't see it or even know I did it until I filled it up with water.

And if you really mean it about there being nothing time-consuming about this hobby for you....shouldn't you get a new hobby? Crud, I spend as much time as I can just watching my skimmer run....let alone time spent watching the tank! :)

BTW, the best tool for removing all kinds of algae from glass tanks is the Easy Blade, which you glue to the back of any better-quality algae-magnet.

It contains a razor blade that will mow through anything and you don't need to get wet!

i use the plastic credit card to scrape them (coraline alage) off the glass.
by the way the purple stuffs that you have on the sandbed are no coraline algae though.

I like the scrapers made for this purpose but just make sure to change/replace them as soon as you see any bend or defect on the blade.
