Borrowed a friends Sigma 105mm Macro lens and Canon T2i, and got a couple good shots with it. Tank is lit with LEDs, so I'm very pleased with how these turned out. I shot in RAW and then edited them to get as close to the actual colors as I could (on my monitor anyways). I'm at ISO 100 I believe, Fstop of 1/15 as well. I'm using the Tv setting as well. Critiques are more than welcome, as I'm new to the macro game!

Crank up the F stop to like 35 or so :)

WOAH! Won't the shutter be open forever with the aperture that small? I shoot MOST of my tank at around f11 if I go up anymore than that the image is usually way over exposed. But I have never used a macro lens so it may be totally different.

Great photos Ronnie!

I like to shoot in AV mode with the f-stop at 8 or 9, in this mode the camera will pick the shutter speed for you. Auto ISO and Auto white balance as long as you shoot in RAW the white balance doesn't matter. You can adjust it with a little post processing.

With my Tamron I have to crank it up pretty high to get enough depth of field. You just balance the F stop and shutter speed so that the exposure is normal. Depends on the shot you are looking for i suppose.

Are you shooting handheld or tripod? use of a tripod, and pumps off would get you some better results, also if you take the ISO up then you can get much better depth of field. If you want "poster size" print quality images 100 is the way to go, but 800, even 1600 will still look great quality wise on a monitor.

nice pics, and beautiful coral !
