Dont buy it. It's that simple. There are many more cheap corals than there are expensive ones. ALL of the beautiful tanks I have seen dont have a homewrecker or a CSB in them. What people willing to pay for them don't affect your reefing experience. If it does then get out of the hobby. Reefing if not about having the most expensive corals.

Yep.

I have seen Homewreckers for $1,000 and I have seen them for $100

It is all about shopping around.

Yes it does affect my experience, it affects the whole hobby.
Why you can't see this is beyong belief.
And i'm not about to leave the hobby i have been in for 20 years because some no mark on the internet tells me to.

I just noticed you are from the UK.

Maybe that is an issue there.

But everybody and their brother sells coral here in the USA.

For Every Person Selling Coral when I started in this Hobby 10 Years Ago there are probably 100 Selling Now.

So it is very Price Competitive here.

Yes it does effect others.
When a coral that used to sell for $100 now costs $799 because a few sellers decided it was something special and inflated the price.
Suppliers see this and decide they want a piece of the pie and bump up the wholesale price 400%.
So don't pretend it doesn't effect everyone because it does.

Not only that, but is also influences supplier harvesting and what gets boxed and what gets tossed until the country of origin bans export.

Then again, one of the few things I dislike about frag swaps is when it is the super designer name runaway. The upside though is that is saves me money to put towards hardware raffles.
