Custom Stand for Biocube 32

I am looking for a custom stand for my biocube. I don't think I trust the stand made for the tank so I have been looking for a different stand with no luck. Any suggestions??

You can always build your own. I was in the same boat with my 60 cube for my office... I bought the tank off of a local and the. stand had some water damage. I just didn't trust it.

Why do you not trust the stand that was made for it?
I have a biocube that’s over 10 years old (probably closer to 15) that’s in perfect condition and still using the original stand.

If you don’t like the one that they sell for it your only other option For a custom stand is to DIY one yourself Or call around to woodworkers/cabinet makers and have them make you something.

I felt the same way about the Biocube stand. It’s particle board with ikea style cam fasteners. Once filled with rock, sand, water and equipment the tank is easily over 400lbs. I decided to go the DIY route and begin making my own. Here is my progress. It’s framed and the inside is shelled with plywood.

Where do you get 400lbs at?
Waters 8.34lbs per gallon.
Its a 28g tank, let’s say after displacement you’re left with 25g(probably less if you’re using sand and a good amount of rock)
25x8.34= 208.5
Add to it maybe 20 lbs of sand (a lot for tank that size) and another 20lbs of rock you’re still only at roughly ~250lbs
Quite a bit away from 400

I saw all the negative reviews about the Biocube stand as well. Many of the reviews are dated. They did indeed redesign the stand. Purchased this year - assembled and have no concerns.

My estimate was based on
•The 32 gal biocube, not the 28 which the tank weighs 56lbs.
• 30 lbs of rock
• 30lbs of sand
• 30 gal of salt water which weighs 8.556 per gal.
• 5 lbs for 2 power heads, return pump, Fuge rack, Fuge light and 2 Eheim heaters.
For a total of 377.68.
Again just my opinion

Thanks for all the feedback. I have a 3 year old and 3 cats. I really don't think the biocube stand would be an issue but I am not 100% confident it wouldn't be an issue. I've looked into a DIY but I trust myself even less when it comes to building something like that...haha...I have a client that makes furniture and I have reached out to her to possibly build a stand for me.
