I've made a new overflow box for my new set up but the silicon at the bottom of inside my tank is too thick to allow it to sit flush against the glass.

I'm just wondering how easy it's going to be to cut off the corners of the glass and what's the best way to do it? I've got a glass cutter but the sections I need off will be very small.

You would have to try snapping it with pliers.

You can grind glass with diamond abrasives. Either a diamond bit for a rotary tool, a diamond nail file or a sanding block with fine wet or dry paper.

Yeah scoring and snapping such a small piece can only end in disaster. I had t thought about being able to grind it, this might work as it's only about 2mm I need to smooth off so it sits closer to the glass!

Just get a diamond cutting wheel for an angle grinder and make sure plenty of water when cutting it back...good luck
Thanks for the tip, I think even that would take too much off though, I just need a tiny bit off the corner so it sits close enough to the glass?
