Can anyone throw out some first hand experience on either of these lights as to why you wish you didn’t buy it or happy you did?

My current pros/cons list isn’t showing a clear winner (only included key differences, obviously both of these lights are fully capable growing coral)

And just for context it’s for a uns r60

X4:
Pros - Lifetime warranty, fantastic app with many features, seems to make coral look better than straton, sturdy back mount, can get it in white

Cons - smaller coverage, bigger footprint, heavier, has fans lol

Straton:
Pros - looks amazing, no fans, larger blanket of light, less light spill

Cons - many people people say it leans forward on back mount, cumbersome app, I wish it was fully black

I wouldn't consider the X4 for anything, just not worth the money. The straton x is very nice and there are people making printed mounts for alternative mounting options. If you're not in a hurry, Quanta will be releasing two panel fixtures in a couple months that combine the meso blue and reef crest daylight spectrums (both are amazing on their own).

I have the straton x on my uns r75 which has the 10mm glass. I believe the r60 is the same thickness. I am using the arm mount from ATI and the light is not learning forward. The light was purchased last month with the mount so unsure if the earlier ones had the learning issue.

I am pretty happy with the light and just got back seriously into the hobby. The app is OK and I just set it and don't use it much at all. It is nice not to hear any fans going off.

That’s Dalua marketing for ya. The lifetime warranty sounds like it’s on the light, but it isn’t. Their actual fixture warranty is 2 years. The only parts covered under the ‘lifetime’ warranty are the individual LED diodes, meaning the tiny LED emitters themselves, and the lenses over them. DaLUA also defines lifetime as a maximum of 10 years. The drivers, control electronics, fans, Wi-Fi components and the rest of the fixture are still only covered for 2 years.

Go Straton from your choices. Or consider the meridian. Black. Fanless. Better spectrum than the straton. Modular and expandable with bars that attach to the light and can even share power. Easy and reliable app. Us support. Just an option to consider
