Hi all! My name is David and I am a first year college student living at home. Sorry for the ramble that is about to happen! Anyways, I got into this whole reefing thing about five months ago (right before school began). Fortunately I have supportive parents who allow me to do all this crazy stuff that I never intended to do. Until about a month ago I intended to keep it simple on my 40G with two koralia's and a hang on the back filter. That's still running with some fair success. However after finding a good deal on a skimmer I took the leap and ordered it. I still planned on trying to keep it cheap but... well you all know how it goes. After determining I wanted to move to a bigger tank (75G at the time until that one leaked around the overflow so it quickly got returned) I ordered two Ocean Revive T247-B lights. I originally planned on doing a DIY stand, canopy, sump and preferably drilling and installing an overflow on a pristine 75G I got for free. However an internship I've had has kept me busy and with school also beginning this coming week I ended up purchasing a tank and stand from a local shop and bought a Trigger Systems Ruby 36 off a fellow reefer who's plans for building a tank have changed. I'll cut it short here and add an equipment list of what I have acquired as of today (items surely missing) with pictures following shortly after this post!

Tank - 90G Marineland Corner-Flo Tank
Stand - Deep Blue Series V Stand (Purchased for its increased height over the Marineland)
Sump - Trigger Systems Ruby 36 Sump
Lighting - Two Ocean Revive T247-B Lights (Display) and a 45W Chinese Grow Light (Refugium)
Skimmer - Skimz Kone SK181
Doser - Jebao DP-4
Wavemaker - Jebao CP-90
Return Pump - Jebao DCP-8000
Reactor - Single BRS Reactor (Need to setup manifold to connect to)
Rock - About 80 lbs. Dry Rock (Display) and 20 lbs. Rubble from 40G (Refugium)

Anyways I would love to get some suggestions for stocking in addition to livestock I already have in the 40G. I'll share my current list and can ensure you all that I already have a home in mind for the tang when it gets to decent size!

Black Snowflake and Black Ice Snowflake Pair
Naso Tang
Lawnmower Blenny (I think but not 100% sure)
Two Blue-Green Chromis

Pictures will hopefully follow this post later today!

Here’s some photos. I love the side door on the cabinet but it’s a shame I have no use for it.

Looks great! Love the scape!!!! When will you transfer your current stock to your new tank?

So that’s actually something I meant to make a post about wherever it should be. This tank isn’t cycled/matured yet so I was just going to inquire if hooking up the 40 to the same system (and using that as my frag tank) would have the same effect as just waiting and letting the tank do its thing. I’m pretty confident I’m far past the ugly stage on that one. There’s about 50-60 lbs. of rock in that tank so not like I could just throw it in the sump or I would.

Edit: Thanks for the compliment on the scape! I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first because all of the rocks are larger than anything I've worked with in the past. I think I'll probably go back in with some rubble to make it look more cohesive and I'll hopefully like it more then.
