Hey what’s reef2reef

I’m debating purchasing a used bio cube 29 gallons. I’ve had two reef tanks in my life I’ve been a majority a freshwater planted tank guy. But lately I’ve been buzzing listening to reef therapy with Jake Adam and I want to dabble again.

Any tips for starting an aquarium bare bottom with dry rock and cycling slow. Not looking to over load with fish. At most a bangi cardinal. Looking to do softy’s. Purple mushroom orange mushroom, maybe toadstool and devil finger leather. Mostly want to add macro algae. I’ve kept corals prior that I listed. My old methodology of settting up a reef I found is out dated I started reefing by doing live rock pound per gallon. Tips pointers anything will be appreciated I’ll drop some photos of previous set ups. This was a 46 bowfront with live and dry rock. Life happened tour it down rehomed the fish

I will add one opinion here. If you are able to start the tank with live rock, like rock from TBS, GulfLiveRock, Live Rock n Reef or from an established, mature reef tank. Live rock from the companies I listed would be the most beneficial at adding the biodiversity your tank will need to be successful.

You could also buy live rubble-rock and seed your tank from the rear chamber(s), if you want only dry rock in the main area of the tank.

Sounds like a great project-- I'm sure with patience you will succeed!
