I did the lugols dip on the hammer, thanks @VintageReefer for the tip.
Here it is back in the tank

The birdsnest gets fluffier by the day. I'll be mounting all these corals sometime this week.

As a little passion project I'm trying to identify these feather dusters. I believe these are likely from the genus Bispira. Their crowns are even all the way around, no gaps like in the Sabellastarte genus, which is the genus the feather dusters commonly available to hobby belong to. So for now, Bispira sp. (sp. is an abbreviation for species and is used when the exact species is unknown/undescribed) is what ive come to, maybe Bispira Brunea.
@ISpeakForTheSeas, mind checking my work?
Anyways, here's some pics from around the reef.
Here's some shots of the dusters in question

I believe this is a spiny oyster, there is a second one, but is currently being carried away by the urchin lol. These came in with the macroalgae, which was mounted on a cluster of spiny oyster shells.

This feather duster hitchhiked in on my sbb corals order back in August he's grown quite a lot since, he is the only tubeworm with a calcium carbonite tube in this tank, for now.

The big guy's tube is growing upwards! :)

New kind of sponge has filled in the gap left by the pineapple sponges, most of them died when I had to move the tank.

I hope you enjoyed this critter spotlight! I love hitchhikers!
Here's some blooper shots 20250326_160730.jpg 20250326_160637.jpg 20250326_160643.jpg

Did some glueing yesterday, my epoxy just got here so today I'll be glueing down most of the coral to the rocks. Yesterday I glued the boeken peices of the birdsnest and the thorny oysters.
*There are fragments of shell that these oysters are attached to, I didn't glue them at the byssal threads :)
This one is growing on the shell of one of his fallen comrades

Very happy with the tank at the moment, finally starting to look like a reef after I glued these corals down! I'm planning various equipment upgrades then I will order a chalk bass from @Fish & Coral Store. Im going down to Miami with a friend this weekend to do some fishing & snorkeling, I'll try and get yall some pics. Anyways here's what you came for!

This guy has become quite the photobomber but I just turn that into opportunity.

This guys got a few polyps closed, just fed mysis, very cool to watch the polyps snatch the little bits.

oh boy... so the hammer has been very weird. One side of the flesh band has been looking good while the other side had continued its recession. I noticed really poor polyp extension today which prompted me to check the other side and it was not pretty. I did a long overdue water change, put the lights on 60% and dipped it in iodine and coral rx. Hopefully it recovers and Hopefully I'm not doing too much.

Not looking good :(

If this guy makes it, I'll have a cool survivor story, if not I definitely learned some lessons. I need to make sure the corals I buy are in good health. This hammer has been an uphill battle since I got it. Likely won't do business with that lfs again.

Just looking back at old photos I should have seen this coming a mile away.
Looks like it was stung (in red)
Spoinid worms (in yellow)
beginning of flesh ressesion (in green)
Hydroids (in blue)
