I'm jocking your style with the flame scallop! Just found this at the LFS around here. Will be adding Brightwell Reef Blizzard-O to the food dosing pump based on some preliminary research and keeping my fingers crossed. But for now it seems to be chowing down on the Reef Nutrition Oyster-Feast I'm target feeding with.

I loved keeping a flame scallop.
So fascinating to watch. I heard good things with oyster feed. I used dried phyto but I can't tell if that was doing the trick since a nitrate spike killed mine off.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but when I kept gorgonians what I used to do is mix reef chilli and dry phyto/live phyto in a syringe and target fed with all the pumps off. The mix stayed suspended long enough around the coral for them to get a nice feed.

They are still cool though. Would love to see them in the reef some day.

Although I think they would decimate our cleaning crews

I really like them. When I bought, it was labeled electric scallop . I'm use to the one thar look like eyes on edge of she'll for electric type.

No skimmer, two large refugium outside of home next to room with DT. real cool. Lots of cooling to keep temp. Safe

Ah. I wish my nano were drilled so I could set up a nice sized fuge or sump. Would make me do less work lol.

What are you feeding them?

Two ways I feed the corals, first liquid food Reef nutrition phyto-feast. I add to it Reef roids, freeze dry mysis shrimp, Arctic pods, whole oysters blend it up. The liquid food is fed through a dosing pump with a programmable timer.
Second, I rewired a fish feeder connect to the programmable dosing pump. I feed dry Reef roids with freeze dry mysis shrimp, once every one or two hours depending on time of day.

Took me over a year to get filtration and feeding down to where it seems corals may thrive.

That's a pretty awesome feed system!

I used to make my own food with a blend of mashed mysis, white shrimp, scallop and then I'd mix in phyto and chilli. Then I'd freeze it in small squares. It was kind of a catch all food for the fish, sps, nps and lps.

In retrospect I probably would have added reef roids and oyster feed.
