Another great RAIN2 harvest! Some spring cleaning on the tank with some aggressive bubble scrubbing. Running mechanical filtration for once to capture all the junk. Going to do a water change today as well, haven’t done one in awhile. Want to do one “just because”!

Very nice tank! I appreciate the info and videos.
I would like to know how you control your heaters?
Do you use multiple controllers for back up?
I’m putting together my first tank and the heater part is got me scratching my head

Before and after a vinegar bath. I do this as soon as they are covered purple, so far I’ve only taken each pump apart once.

Do you get a build up of some sort in volute of your nyos? I hadnt deep cleaned in probably close to a year so today i found the volue almost completely blocked. Calcium buildup maybe?

Sorry, just now saw this! I hadn't noticed any build up on my skimmer, I clean it every 4-5 months though. How is the skimmer working now that its super clean?

No worries. Seems to be skimming better. Maybe wetter. My PH is definitely topping out higher now there’s more air getting through. I actually had to use a sheet rock screw to screw through the blockage and pull it out. Guess i got lazy! The retun pump on my biocube failed sunday night too. Again probably my laziness but it wasnt all the dirty.

Algae breaking down as it dies can be a form of carbon dosing

Not really. Algae breaking down produces the same things that decomposing food does: Nutrients like ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and phosphate. The "carbon dosing" of algae only happens when it's alive and growing; the photosynthesis makes glucose, which is carbon dosing because it's a sugar.

Decomposing algae produces no sugar.

Equipment cabinet is an absolute mess! But I got the Neptune DOS in there and may have room for a second! I only have one pump setup and honestly from what I read I expected the DOS to be louder.

Apex classic, COR controller, FMM module, break out box, Gyre advanced controller, EB8, Tunze 3155 brain and my APC battery backup is In this cabinet.

All 4 t5’s on and kessils at 59% intensity and 62% color. Wasn’t much change when I turned kessils to 100%.
