I purchased some fish three days ago and placed them in my QT. The next day, one of them (the flame angel) had a raised bump that appears whitish in color. It has slowly gotten bigger since then. The fish has not eaten since I brought it home. (I typically ask to see the fish eat before I make a purchase but I had my two year old with me and forgot to ask.)

Please see the photos and video below. Thanks in advance for any help.

Just thought I would mention that the floating particles you see in the video are baby brine shrimp I had just put them in the tank to try to get it to eat. Unfortunately it did not eat them either.

The first thought would be lymph, but I've never seen lymph grow from zero to that in just three days. It's more likely an infection spreading. You'll want to be careful with this. You can watch for another day or so and if it continues to get worse, you'll want to treat with an antibiotic.... maybe several such as Kanaplex, furan 2 and metroplex to round it off. You can just do one of the first two and add to it if you need to.

The cause of the infection is a concern as well. You'll want to be sure to watch for symptoms of ick, velvet and flukes. You can do a freshwater dip to check for flukes right now and cross that off the list.

^^ Agree; although I would start dosing Kanaplex or Furan-2 now just in case.

Thanks for the feedback. Last night, I started dosing Prazipro as a precaution (I usally follow with Cupramine), can I mix Furan-2 and Prazi? I would use Kanaplex and Metro but the fish isn't eating so I don't think it would get any medication.

If you are using Prazipro then I wouldn't dose antibiotics at this time. The potential benefit doesn't outweigh the interaction risk.
