Hi,
I'm Electrical Engineer and know how to setup a LEd fixture and trying to do one for my new reef atm.
So I bougth a prebuilt tank with sump and everything and its got a build it small LED fiture wityh 64 small LED in two rows. I removed it and doing trying to fit in some 1W and 3W LED on its place.

My question though is if I setup a Light fixture like this,
Will a Light fixture only 2-3 inches above water level be harmfull to Fish? Ofc I will adjuest(reduce) the PAr and Lux levls to match as required.
If so should I skip the 3w and go for a mroe spread of juts1W lights ?
Inverse square law means I can get away with 1/3-1/4 the lights this way. Not to mention I can keep my sleek looking in built roof.

Thanks.
