Doeing iodine

Sorry for asking crazy questions but I find myself not leaving my aquarium be but I saw somewhere that the white spots I'm seeing on my live rock is from my protein skimmer is taking the iodine out of the water. Please help is that ture or not if so do I need to turn off my protein skimmer for a day or do I need to worry about it at all.

No those two are not connected in any way. You don't have to concern with iodine at all

That white spot is about big as a dime

I find coraline to phase in and out based on available elements
Looks like something had lunch there. No urchins right?

accurate call. that live rock looks as good as mine man and mines been simmerin ten yrs. you can lift out, rinse off, and put back in/re arrange and clean off that live rock as often as needed, we're free to handle. keep nice slightly bold magnesium levels if you want to detail a param to help coralline.

lighting causes it to seat/recede in various parts of the tank is pretty variable. after changing to led, the coralline on my lr did not die it held, but I scrape zero coralline off the glass and six years ago the coralline would opaque up the whole pico. lighting was only change, and glass growth stopped. its so variable...only mass recession or bleaching would concern me. hand clean/rinse off any growths/scums/algae as you guide that rock into mature compliance things are going well per pics.

Nope not true and you do not need to dose Iodine or leave the skimmer off. Routine water changes will take care of replacing trace elements. A skimmer does not significantly impact the iodine level.
There are numerous reasons why you see white patches, with Iodine deficiency being not one of those reasons.
Certain inverts eat coralline, different coralline types with different colors, changes in lighting.......

Oh no need to be sorry at all, it's a valid question.

Unfortunately sifting through information regarding this hobby can be overwhelming.

Just do the routine water changes, testing for Ca/Alk/ and Mag occasionally will be all you need to do now.
