Are you talking about the white calcium base where the frag was cut?

Likely from handling when glued to the plug. I wouldn't worry about it much, those are tough corals. Feed it a few times a week and keep some flow on it. That will turn into a bunch of heads in time.
Thanks! Like how many times a week? And what I've fed him brine shrimp he seemed to like them is there anything else?

I'm no expert, just started my first "reef" in May after many years of FOWLR, but when my Duncans do that, i think they are "happy". :)

Mine started with 2 heads 5 weeks ago and I just noticed a 6th head that has started. I typically feed them every other day or two. Awesome corals.

It looks like the area from fragging. I give mine good flow and light on sand bed. I don't feed, it just catches what it can from feeding my fish. Growth is pretty quick, my2 head frag is now the size of a large grapefruit in one year. I'm having to frag every 3-4 months to control growth. Awesome coral! Good Luck!

I started with 2 heads on this frag about 6 months ago and didn't see it grow fast, I changed out my innovative marine led lights for 2 AI prime hd lights and now have 3 new heads In just about 2months
