Had a 14 gallon cube that I currently upgraded to a 60 gallon cube. Transferred everything over and all my parameters are good. I have had 2 lawnmowers die in my old tank and thought okay maybe it's an ammonia spike or something so I'll wait until my upgrade. Upgraded to the 60 and everything was good so I added a black combed tooth blenny and he was happy as could be, hours before I found him laying on the sand bed he was swimming next to my clown fish pair and eating brine from a baster feeder. I wish I would have takin a picture of him, he had a white stomach that looked like skin was peeled off maybe? Could have been someone picking at him after he died.

In tank:
2 clowns
cleaner shrimp
Kuekanthal shrimp
watchman goby
pistol shrimp (tiger i believe)
bunch of acans
indo gold torch
few different zoas
2 hammer (pink and a green purple tip)
Bunch if acropora frags.
Duncan frag

** not a whole lot going on and im dosing neonitro and neophos to keep things inline while my tank is under stocked.

Dosing:
boyds vitaminS
ab+
Reefroids
** have on hand redsea mag and alk to add once i see flucuations.

I tested ammonia twice and it's zero, maybe 0.1(hard to say with the chemical tests).

Nitrate - 9.7
Alk - 7.7
Phos - 0.06
Mag - 1350

Everything seems happy. Clownfish are about a month old in my tank and have damage from community tanks where i bought them but I thought I'd mention it just in case it's a sign of the dying blennies in my old tank, now this tank. Hard to get a picture of the clowns together but the damage looks the same on both.

Sorry for the blabbering I tried to add as much as I could think to help hopefully solve this issue.

How long did you have the blenny before it died?

The clownfish are showing no symptoms, no rapid breathing?

I had the blenny for about 2 weeks or less. I believe it was my pistol shrimp, He is always snapping in my tank (maybe he's aggressive?). The Clowns are not showing any signs of being sick, besides the almost identically damaged tails, no fast respiration, and still eating and exploring.

Combtooth and lawnmower blennies are herbivores and can sometimes be difficult to feed in captivity. I've had lawnmowers decimate the algae in a tank and then promptly starve to death. Combtooths can supposedly have the same issue (depending on the species involved).

My first lawnmower stuck around for abit. The second died over night. Then the combed tooth lasted about 2 weeks, and there was algae to eat in the tank for him. But I ignorantly didn't supplment the herbivore side of his diet, so maybe that's the reason he sadly died. Lesson learned, hopefully it was that because I'd rather learn a hard lesson than fight to get a pest out of my tank.

so my lawnmower blenny is also not so active. He's taken one corner of the tank. He's getting decolorized.
what do you recommend I do to save his life?

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

More information, as well as photos/video would be needed in order to try and figure out the problem with your blenny.
