ive been kind of depressed since the loss of my canary wrasse pair
my female jumped out of the tank while cleaning and one of my cats got her TT_TT
then my male just hid and after this tank remodeling i searched but to no avail i believe him dead and gone

ive since been talking about getting another medium sized wrasse , and after some reasearch i think this type would be good in my tank as its peacful and wont cause strife

looking at getting a :[h=1]Tail-spot Wrasse - Halichoeres melanurus[/h]

the tank and rock are yes.

my mother and father initially had a full predator tank, and live rock. triggers, lion fish , puffers, blue tang, yellow tang. but as power outages kept killing our fish. at the end of 10 years we had a dog faced puffer , and a hermit crab was all that remained, then another power outage killed the puffer and i stuck the hermit crab in a mini tank powered by a solar pump/heater to keep him alive. We had the live rock moved to saltwater store we go to for water and they kept them alive. so the rock is about 20 years. the hermit crab was placed in a year before we lost the puffer.

since then my mother wanted a more peaceful tank and asked me to help build one that she would enjoy and would be nice to watch and help her relax
so i set forth to help her build a
here was the tank last year before the remolding

since then we had nothing but fish, then my mother stated she'd like to have corals so i went about researching corals to add

since then we've added the corals, initially a toadstool, then a kenya tree, and the Hawaiian featherdusters.
we add some new corals when we have some extra play money
order of adding(x denotes lost)
-clown fish
-six lined
-engineering goby
-mandarin dragonet M
-boxer shrimp (X)
-squarback anthias
-cleaner wrasse
-blue pacific spiny lobster X
-green dragon pipe fish X
-starry blenny/snowflake blenny
-cream angel (got large and was donated to local shop shop we frequent)
-canary wrasse(M/F) X
-green pastel wrasse
-desjardins sailfin tang (this year a Juvenal was bought, yes hes grown a lot now)
-yellow clown goby

so now we are focusing on developing the corals and adding a few small fish here and there that can act as clean up crew.

most of the fish we have were selected for a reason, and serve a purpose as well as being "nice" to watch.

so the rock is 20 years minimum , as is the actual tank, this provides a well established system for which we built our new ecosystem from
and the high level of copopods is good, it helps my dragonet , which i trained to eat frozen brine shrimp

as fore the reason of remodel, we were having stability issues with the rock structure. our engineer goby did his job to well and made a very dangerouse situation in which we had to do a remodel

the new cave/ coral structure is constructed by white pvc pipes, aquarium blue glue, and pool/pond foam we cured in a large saltwater tub for days.
afterwords it was installed and we setup the tank we re introduced our fish , which we had in a temp tank/sump

thus the new clean look, were hoping it builds up in algae to make it look more nature looking

Thank you , we're very proud of it. sad that we had to go from normal rock structure to a pvc cave, but the end result will be better swimming room for fish ,and better lighting for the corals

we now just need to locate the new fish/corals and the tank will be finished.
