I've been having problems with my Acropora coloration. They are not really brown or pale, more so a greyish. Hobbyist test kits are coming out with good numbers for me. I have plenty of flow and decent lighting.
Here are my parameters tested via Hanna or salifert.
1.026
8.2 dkh
420 ca
1300 mg
420 k
7 no3
.1 po4
I sent off a sample to be icp tested. Tesults came back 7x nsw levels for bromine. Could this be my problem? How is it introduced to the system? Possibly source water?

A note about the potassium value. When I sent out the sample, my salifert kit was testing at 480. I intentionally keep my K value high as I have noticed better coloration. I stop dosing K to the tank and started doing water changes to dilute the bromine, hence potassium levels have dropped as well. I'll send off another icp test in a week or so once I feel the Bromine levels should be in line with nsw values.

Before you flip out over those results, send another test to ATI. That lab is "sketchy" at best. I usually use ATI and have had an ongoing tin issue for several months. Used this test once and magically my tin was undetectable. I also...a bad decision on my part.....chose to make a few corrections based off the results and ended up slightly overdosing my bromine. I was shooting for 85ppm and ended up around 115ppm. You don't really want to exceed 95 or 100ppm. Take those results with a grain of salt. If anything seems out of line, get a second opinion via a different lab.

Here's a link to my latest results....you'll notice my Tin is back and the Bromine is slowly declining. I don't do water changes and only replace water that leaves with frags or is used while flushing out GFO
